The boodi eco-ashtray is the first ever portable ashtray to be made from recyclable, biodegradable and compostable materials. We invented it to provide an alternative to the millions of plastic pocket ashtrays that are ending-up in landfill sites. Like plastic bags, these portable ashtrays are damaging the environment throughout their lifecycle - from production to landfill.
Disposable & recyclable
Our eco-ashtray is very much a disposable ashtray for quickly extinguishing and storing cigarette butts. It’s ideal for use at visitor attractions, music festivals, the beach, the golf course, outdoor events, while walking in the countryside, etc.
Once the user decides to no longer use the eco-ashtray, they can empty its contents into a bin and recycle it with standard cardboard waste.
The boodi eco-ashtray is the way forward for smokers and organisations wishing to promote themselves and advertise their products in an environmentally-conscious and socially responsible way.
You simply open the eco-ashtray, place a lit cigarette into one of the five tubes and then close the eco-ashtray. By placing a lit cigarette into a tube, you are effectively snuffing it out, which happens in a matter of seconds. Watch the video (left) to see how it works.
In simple terms, the tubes inside the eco-ashtray quickly snuff-out cigarettes.
The fire triangle (right) shows what is needed to start and maintain a fire - these are Fuel, Oxygen and Heat. Take any of these 3 elements away and a fire, or burning cigarette, will cease to burn.
Oxygen is quickly removed when a burning cigarette is placed inside one of the tubes. This smothers the cigarette and instantly snuffs it out. Its ability to quickly extinguish cigarettes is the result of many months designing and testing.
